The guitar fret-bending base is designed to give your pre-cut frets the required radius. Developed specifically for lutherie, it enables even, quick and accurate bending. Made from high-quality black PLA, this compact base measures 70 × 20 × 18 mm and features a 1 mm groove. The frets sit securely in the groove, without unwanted play or deformation.
Each base is supplied with a matching pressing block. The complete set is fully compatible with the Fret Press available in our shop. It can be used with an arbor press or a drill press to make the job easier. The guitar fret-bending base helps produce a consistent bend while reducing the effort required.
This system is intended exclusively for pre-cut guitar frets. It is not suitable for fretwire supplied in coils. Several radii are available: 7.25", 9.5", 10", 12", 14", 16", 17" and 20". Each version is designed with the appropriate radius to bend the fret to the selected curvature. Some natural springback of the metal may occur after bending, but most of the shaping work will already be done.
This luthier's fret-bending tool offers several benefits. It is easy to use and allows fast, accurate work. Compatibility with our Fret Press makes the process even more convenient. Made from a material presented as environmentally friendly, it is durable and designed with environmental considerations in mind. Quantity discounts are also available.
The package contains one bending base and its matching pressing block. The set is sold individually and is ready to use. Operation is straightforward: place a fret in the groove, apply pressure with the block and bend it progressively. Working on one fret at a time provides better control and helps achieve a professional result.
