43 mm Brass Guitar Nut – CNC Machined

This 43 mm brass guitar nut is CNC-machined in our workshop from carefully selected solid brass, valued for its mechanical properties and stability. Its standard 43 × 9 mm format is suitable for many six-string electric guitars, with final fitting required for the instrument.

Brass has long been used in guitar making. Its density and rigidity promote vibration transmission and may provide a more defined attack and slightly greater sustain, depending on the guitar and installation. Internationally, this component is commonly known as a brass guitar nut. It is appreciated for its strength, durability and resistance to wear.

Available preparations

• Blank nut: flat surface for unrestricted shaping.
• 9.5-inch radius nut: suited to modern Fender-style fingerboards.
• 12-inch radius nut: compatible with many modern instruments.

The radiused versions have a slight bevel on either side to help the strings pass smoothly and reduce friction during adjustment. Each nut is polished to a bright finish after machining, highlighting the brass and providing a clean, durable appearance.

The nuts are supplied without string slots. Slotting must be carried out to match the string gauge and the luthier's or player's preferences. This allows precise fitting using standard lutherie tools. CNC machining ensures consistent, repeatable geometry, while the final fitting adapts the part to the instrument. Select the thickness and preparation (blank or radius) using the product options.
