Diamond-Profile Guitar Nut Slotting File

The guitar nut file is a lutherie tool designed to create and adjust string slots in guitar nuts. It enables gradual, accurate and controlled work where the strings pass over the nut. This guitar nut-slotting file is suitable both for amateur luthiers and for workshops looking for a versatile, practical tool.

The distinctive feature of this guitar nut file is its diamond-profile blade. This special geometry naturally widens the slot as the cutting depth increases. The deeper the file enters the nut, the wider its effective cutting profile becomes. This principle reduces the need for several files of different widths.

The diamond-profile nut file lets you adapt the slot precisely to the actual string diameter. Adjustment is controlled solely by how deeply the tool is used. This approach helps prevent excessive clearance and makes fine adjustment easier without abruptly removing too much material.

The wooden handle provides a stable, comfortable grip. It offers good tactile feedback and natural guidance during delicate operations. The balance between handle and blade helps maintain a steady stroke without forcing the tool or sacrificing precision.

This guitar nut-slotting file is particularly suited to soft to medium-hard materials, such as bone, Delrin and synthetic materials used in guitar making. On these materials, removal is clean and controlled. It can be used on harder materials, but is less suitable for brass, which generally requires more specialized tools.

The guitar nut file fits easily into a nut-making or guitar-setup toolkit. It can reduce the number of tools required while maintaining a consistent working method. This diamond-profile nut file is a reliable solution for everyday guitar-lutherie tasks.
