Abalone Inlay Blank for Guitar

The guitar abalone blank is ideal for your inlay work on guitar fretboards, knife handles, gunstocks and other marquetry projects. Its iridescent, glossy surface gives each creation a unique appearance. Abalone, also known as sea ear, is a marine mollusc from the Haliotidae family, renowned for its shimmering colors and natural durability.

This guitar abalone blank measures 35 x 19 x 1.27 mm, making it easy to adapt to many artistic or craft applications. It can be worked very well with a CNC machine or scroll saw, but it is important to note that it cannot be cut with a CO2 laser. This limitation is due to its natural composition and sensitivity to heat.

For luthiers, this guitar abalone blank is an excellent choice for creating unique, personalized inlays. It enhances guitar fretboards while allowing great precision during installation. The material is thick enough to withstand sanding and finishing without compromising the surface.

Iridescent abalone inlays provide remarkable contrast and visual depth. They suit all kinds of wood and decorative projects. Whether you are a professional luthier or a dedicated enthusiast, this blank allows you to achieve quality finishes on instruments and decorative objects.
