Precision Guitar Fret Slotting Saw

The guitar fret saw is designed to cut clean, accurate slots perfectly suited to modern frets. Made in England, it meets the demands of precise workshop work.

This guitar fret saw has a 250 mm (10-inch) blade, 0.5 mm thick. It produces a kerf between 0.56 mm and 0.58 mm, fully compatible with standard fret tangs. This precision ensures a reliable fit without excessive looseness or undue stress on the wood.

The 16 TPI tooth pattern (1.6 mm pitch) provides progressive, controlled cutting. It helps limit chipping in maple, rosewood or ebony, even when slotting a new fingerboard. The saw cuts on the pull stroke, offering better control and reducing effort. This precision lutherie tool configuration improves stability and consistency of movement.

The blade comes pre-drilled to allow the installation of a depth stop. No additional drilling is needed. This feature makes it easier to fit an adjustment system for consistent, repeatable slot depths.

Several configurations are available to suit your workshop equipment:

• Saw only – Ideal for a workshop already equipped with a depth-control system.
• Saw + depth stop – Allows precise, secure adjustment of cutting depth.
• Complete kit – Includes the saw, depth stop and slot-cleaning pen for thorough preparation before installing the frets.

The guitar fret saw has a walnut handle for a stable, comfortable grip. The slight tooth set can be adjusted if necessary using a 1000-grit stone, allowing the kerf to be narrowed slightly while maintaining perfect symmetry.
