Real Wood Guitar Fretboard Dot Inlays
Real wood fretboard dot inlays, 2 mm thick, laser cut from ebony, maple or rosewood. Natural grain and colour variations for guitar and bass builds.
Genuine Wood Round Fingerboard Inlays – Ebony, Maple and Rosewood
Give your instruments a natural, personalized finish with our 2 mm thick genuine wood round inlays. These fingerboard position markers, also called dots, are intended for building, restoring and customizing guitars, basses and other stringed instruments. Laser-cut from real wood sheets, each piece retains the natural tones and grain of its species.
Choose from three wood species
Ebony: very dark, almost black wood with fine, understated grain; ideal for a restrained finish.
Maple: light cream-toned wood with delicate grain, creating strong contrast on dark fingerboards.
Rosewood: brown wood with natural shades and darker grain, suitable for warm, traditional-looking inlays.
As these are natural wood parts, shade and grain may vary between individual inlays.
Six available diameters
Select the diameter that suits your project: Ø 2, 3, 4, 6, 8 or 10 mm. These sizes can be used for traditional position markers, decorative inlays or side dots, depending on the instrument design.
Laser cutting and finish
Inlays are laser-cut from genuine wood sheets with a nominal thickness of 2 mm. This process darkens the edges, a normal characteristic of laser-cut wood. Parts are supplied directly after cutting, untreated and without additional finishing. The darkened edges do not require special preparation when the inlay is glued by its face.

Installation advice
Prepare a recess appropriate for the inlay's diameter and thickness. Check the actual part dimensions before permanently machining the fingerboard, and perform a test fit. Glue the inlay by its face using an adhesive suitable for the fingerboard and inlay materials. Leveling and finishing after installation depend on the building or restoration method used.
