A500K Audio Taper Guitar Potentiometer
A500K logarithmic guitar potentiometer for humbucker volume controls.
The A500k audio-taper guitar potentiometer is used for volume control on guitars fitted with humbucker pickups. This type of potentiometer is common on Les Paul- and SG-style instruments and many modern guitars equipped with humbuckers.
The 500k guitar volume potentiometer has a logarithmic (audio) taper, particularly suited to volume adjustment. It provides a gradual change in sound level and a more natural response to human hearing.
The 500 kΩ value is generally used with humbucker pickups. This resistance value preserves more treble frequencies in the signal, helping maintain a more open and dynamic sound. The A500k audio-taper guitar potentiometer is therefore a classic choice for volume circuits on these guitars.
Each A500k audio-taper guitar potentiometer is checked individually in our workshop. Its resistance is measured with a multimeter before it enters stock. The resistive track is also checked for proper operation to screen out components with excessive tolerance.
The 500k guitar volume potentiometer can be used in many guitar wiring configurations. It is suitable for traditional Les Paul circuits, dual-volume layouts and instrument modification projects. It can also be paired with a tone capacitor to complete an electronic circuit.
The A500k audio-taper guitar potentiometer is a reliable component for building, repairing or upgrading the electronics of a humbucker-equipped guitar.
